Dawes, Brandon Flowers Raise $450K at Altadena Fire Benefit Concert

Dawes hosted a star-studded benefit concert Wednesday night, raising $450,000 for community rebuilding efforts on the first anniversary of the devastating Eaton Fire. The “Concert for Altadena” featured performances by Brandon Flowers of The Killers, Stephen Stills, Jenny Lewis, Lord Huron, Rufus Wainwright, Mandy Moore, and Brad Paisley.

The event, co-organized by Dawes frontman Taylor Goldsmith and actor John C. Reilly, drew widespread support from the music community to aid the Altadena Builds Back Foundation. All proceeds from the concert will support recovery efforts in the Southern California community still rebuilding from the January 7, 2025 wildfires.

Goldsmith initially questioned whether holding the concert exactly on the fire’s anniversary was necessary, according to Variety. However, the community response demonstrated the importance of marking the solemn milestone while celebrating resilience.

The lineup brought together Southern California music icons and special guests for the cause. Jenny Lewis, celebrating her 50th birthday, joined the roster of performers that included folk-rock band Lord Huron, acclaimed singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright, and country star Brad Paisley.

Mandy Moore, who is married to Goldsmith, also performed at the benefit, adding to the family atmosphere of the community gathering. The concert took place as residents continue recovery efforts from the Eaton Fire, which caused significant damage to the Altadena area.

The $450,000 raised will directly support the Altadena Builds Back Foundation’s ongoing work. The substantial fundraising total reflects both the star power of the performers and the community’s commitment to supporting their neighbors in need.

As reported by Stereogum, the concert successfully balanced commemorating the tragedy’s anniversary with an uplifting celebration of community strength and musical solidarity.
