Dawes Host Star-Studded Benefit Concert for Altadena Fire Recovery

Dawes and actor John C. Reilly hosted ‘A Concert for Altadena’ Wednesday night, marking the first anniversary of the devastating Eaton Fire that struck the Southern California community. The benefit event raised $450,000 for the Altadena Builds Back Foundation, which supports ongoing recovery efforts in the foothill community northeast of Los Angeles.

The star-studded lineup featured performances by Brandon Flowers of The Killers, legendary singer-songwriter Stephen Stills, Jenny Lewis of Rilo Kiley, Lord Huron, Rufus Wainwright, and Mandy Moore, who is married to Dawes frontman Taylor Goldsmith. The concert brought together musicians and community members to support rebuilding efforts following the January 7, 2025 wildfire that devastated the area.

Goldsmith, who co-organized the event, initially questioned whether holding the concert exactly on the anniversary date was necessary, but ultimately the timing proved meaningful for the community’s healing process. The intimate gathering served both as a fundraiser and as an opportunity for residents to come together in solidarity.

Proceeds from the concert will directly benefit the Altadena Builds Back Foundation, a local organization dedicated to helping residents and businesses recover from the fire’s destruction. The substantial fundraising total demonstrates the strong support from both the music community and attendees who turned out for the cause.

The Eaton Fire, which occurred on January 7, 2025, caused significant damage to the Altadena area, making community rebuilding efforts a ongoing priority for residents and local organizations.
